Daddy's little girl

Last week, whilst picnicking at Mirror Lake, we had a picnic. We forgot the plates. Who needs plates? Chris tried to hand Beth a piece of cold fried chicken. It was right in front of her face and so she took a bite. She continued to eat it without touching it. She did this as if Chris always holds her food for her and she has never had dirty fingers. Ever. It was pretty cute. Chris looked at her confused and said, "Take the chicken!"

And then Bethie wanted a strawberry jam sandwich. Chris made it, carefully cut off the crust, and handed it to her. Beth just looked at it. Chris said, "Would you like me to feed you?" She said yes. Chris broke pieces off and fed his little baby girl as if she was really a baby girl and not almost four years old.

It was most mysterious. I'm pretty sure Chris doesn't treat Beth like this at home, but maybe he does when I'm not looking. If you have ever seen Beth's big brown eyes, you will know that spoiling her is inevitable.
